Class Policies:
Daily Supplies Necessary for Class:
Office Hours/Extra Help Sessions:
Monday through Thursday during lunch activity
Grades:
Your grade will be based on a variety of activities including homework, tests, quizzes, and projects. The percentages will vary slightly between regular math classes and in AP classes. However, in all classes the majority of your grade will derive from tests and quizzes.
Bonus Points:
When doing mathematics, everyone makes mathematical errors, even teachers. If I make a mistake in class, and you catch it, raise your hand so I can call on you. If you tell me the mistake, and you are right, you earn a free point on your next test. Bonus points will also be awarded for challenge problems in class.
Absences:
If you miss a day of class, you are responsible for the following:
**If a quiz or test is missed, I will put a 0 in the gradebook until the assessment is made up.
** If you miss only the review day for a test or quiz, you will be required to take it the day you return to school. Lunch/Activity period or before/after school are your options. For extended absences, other arrangements will be made. Refer to the HKHS student handbook.
**Please be sure that you are familiar with the school’s policies with regard to tardies and unexcused absences. It would be a shame to lose credit after working so hard.
